Hiya, I’m Sean, and I make what I like to call ‘indie hippie music’. I live in Manchester and was born in Hull, Yorkshire.

Northern music has always been significant for me, from being raised on Arctic Monkeys and The Wombats, falling in love with the music of The Beatles, and newer acts like Sam Fender. I was brought up in Hull, where I DJ’d at Spiders Nightclub and graduated from uni with a degree in music performance.

Since moving to Manchester, I have formed a live band, and started performing my songs. I've played plenty of open mics across the city and even busked as a solo performer, and performed at venues such as Aatma, 33 Oldham Street and Grand Central.

Now, I have a debut EP under my belt, released last October. It’s called Intoxicated, and it’s a post-punk indie rock ode to the music I was raised on. The cover art features myself outside of Spiders Nightclub.

My new single, ‘My Dealer (Loves Me)’ is an upbeat, indie club tune with contrastingly sombre lyrics. It’s the first time I have used a synth, and it plays the lead melody, exercising some of my  newer influences such as Blossoms and CHVRCHES.

I wrote it during my uni days - a different time that I am thankful to have moved past in many ways. My life journey since the composition has brought me to an interesting mindset in terms of releasing the song, but I think I love it more than ever.

I wanted to contrast the music and the lyrics, because it was how I was living my life. I spent all my time partying and clubbing, all the while becoming more depressed.

I've always felt it had a Wombats - Let's Dance To Joy Division vibe to it, so releasing it as an artist based in the city that Joy Division called home is a real privilege. I hope it continues the great legacy of northern, UK indie club disco at its finest.
